Alaska Hunting Adventures
Hunt the Tok Management Area with some of the
most professional and well respected
guides in the business.

Hunt with Matt Snyder. Matt grew up next to the Tok Management Area. Matt's mom, Sue Entsminger and his step-dad, Frank Entsminger have been taking Matt backpack hunting into Dall sheep country since he was 7 years old. Matt began his professional guiding career in the Wrangell Mountains when he was 20 years old.  Since that time Matt has guided Dall sheep hunters in the Chugach Mountains, Mentasta Mountains and the Alaska Range, honing his skills as an sheep hunting guide. Matt began Alaska Hunting Adventures in 1994, and his family's passion for Dall sheep hunting is legendary among professional hunters throughout Alaska and the rest of the U.S.

Frank Entsminger's name was synonymous with 40" rams across Alaska while Matt was still a young boy. As a taxidermist and wildlife artist, Frank's life is spent studying Dall sheep habits and trophies through a spotting scope. Sue Entsminger has been hunting sheep right alongside Frank since 1975.  Sue has established her own reputation as an experienced sheep guide.  Matt learned sheep hunting from some of the best.  Matt and his folks' homes are nestled in the Little Tok River Valley between the Mentasta Mountains and the Eastern Alaska Range with a view of the world famous Tok Management Area. All of the guides of Alaska Hunting Adventures in the Tok Management Area hold a 39" average.

Both Sue and Frank assist in guiding Matt's clients.  Matt has earned a solid reputation as an Alaskan guide with an exceptional trained eye for trophy Dall sheep.  Matt holds both private and commercial pilot licenses with thousands of hours flying in the Alaskan wilderness.

"This family is highly successful for their clients.  They have a deep passion for wildlife conservation and the future of hunting, and dedicate an endless amount of volunteer time attending meetings and being involved in Alaska’s public process to establish regulations that affect hunting and wildlife conservation. The entire family has earned a great reputation for providing highly professional, successful, safe, fair chase hunts in some of the finest wilderness Alaska has to offer."
David G. Kelleyhouse, former Director of the Division of Wildlife Conservation, Alaska Department of Fish and Game (1991-1994) and Tok Area Biologist (1978-1991), Retired

Matt’s specialty is guiding for trophy Dall sheep rams in the Tok Management Area.  This family has trekked and hunted throughout the entire Tok Management Area over a period of four decades. No other guides can match their familiarity with this special area and its stupendous rams.  Matt, Sue and Frank have taken many outstanding rams over 40 inches for their clients.  They are congenial hunting companions with a strong personal commitment to the safety, comfort and success of their hunters. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Tok Management Area  (TMA) web site displays photos taken by Frank Entsminger with some 40” rams taken while hunting in the Tok Management Area.
